Frank Ward Holt was a soldier during World War I, fighting with Company H of the 129th Infantry, American Expeditionary Force. During his military service, Holt briefly served on the front lines in France. Holt's father, Martin Sidney Holt, was a dairy farmer and Civil War veteran who fought in the Missouri, Vicksburg, and Tennessee campaigns.

Photographs in this collection include several images of soldiers at Camp Logan in Houston during World War I.
